The Mentawai Experience, trading as Through Strangers Eyes (ABN 25 284 145 626), based in Burleigh Heads, Queensland, Australia. This policy explains how we handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What We Collect
- Your email address, when you join our list, make an enquiry, or rent the film.
- A record of your rental (the film, purchase time, and access window). We do not collect or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
- Basic technical data needed to operate the site and deliver the film securely, such as your IP address and device or browser information.
3. How We Use It
To deliver the film and your access, send your receipt and access link, respond to your enquiries, protect against fraud and abuse, and send updates you have consented to. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who Handles Your Data, and Where
We use trusted service providers to run the site and the rental. Some of them store or process data outside Australia. By using the site you acknowledge this overseas disclosure.
- Stripe processes payments and may store data overseas.
- Cloudflare hosts the website, delivers the video, and stores your rental record, on its global network.
- Mailchimp manages our email list (United States).
- Resend sends transactional emails such as your access link.
5. Retention
We keep purchase records for as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations. Rental access records are minimal and cleared periodically after they expire. You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time.
6. Your Rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. To make a request, email info@throughstrangerseyes.com.au.
7. Cookies
We use only the essential cookies needed to operate the rental, such as keeping you signed in to the film you have rented. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Payment details never touch our servers, and access to the film is protected by secure, time-limited links.
